Meet our 2022 President

Our 2022 President has been elected, Mr Rex Goldsmith, ‘The Chelsea Fishmonger’.

‘It is an honour to be elected President of The National Federation of Fishmongers and I look forward to representing you and promoting the interests of the independent fishmonger. My interest in fish started when I was 12 years old with my first part time job in a fishmonger’s shop.   From that point on I was hooked! My career has seen me work on a supermarket fish counter before buying my first market stall and culminating in starting The Chelsea Fishmonger 20 years ago.

I am a member of the London Retail Fish and Poultry Association and been Chairman for the last 10 years. My involvement in the London association led to me being asked to join the Federation where I have held the position of Council member, Treasurer and Vice President.

I will cherish the opportunity to continue to move the Federation forward as opportunities arise and society regains a sense of normality. It is privilege to have a fantastic team around me on the council and I look forward to meeting you on my regular trips to Billingsgate or industry events.’
