The Introduction to HACCP training course has been available as a remote (zoom) course to independent fishmongers since August 2020. The 4 hr course usually starts at 9:30am and finishes at 2pm followed by a 30 minute invigilated multiple-choice exam. Further details about the training course can be found below. Courses are delivered remotely via zoom and can easily be arranged upon demand.

This is a Level 1 qualification.

  • Currently 50% funded by Seafish so that the cost per person is just £50.
  • Learners require access to Zoom and a webcam to participate in the course and exam. This is available free of charge, and does not need to be installed as there is a web only app available.
  • Successful learners receive a nationally recognised Introduction to HACCP qualification from Seafish and REHIS.
  • More information available from this Seafish webpage.

Sarah O’Connor, owner of The Fabulous FISH Company says: “One of my team attended this training course and they have been able to use their new knowledge in their daily routine. I now have even greater confidence in the food safety management system for my fishmongering business.” Kerry Palmer of The Fabulous FISH Company added: “Completing the training course gives me confidence knowing that what I’m doing contributes to a safe product that our customers will want to come back for time and again.”
